“Brett proposed in the most thoughtful way I could imagine,” explained Kirsten while reminiscing on her sweet San Antonio, Texas engagement. Brett popped the big question in the first place they said, “I love you.” The couple enjoyed the intimate moment together before joining their family and friends for a surprise engagement party at the historic Hotel Emma. Later, Kirsten and Brett would find out her parents spent their honeymoon in the same spot Brett proposed. Then, they began planning their timeless black, white, and blush industrial chic wedding with the expert help of Scarlet Rose Events.
Kirsten and Brett married on April 9, 2021, in the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country. They wanted their wedding to have a timeless aesthetic that they could enjoy in photos for years to come. So, they opted for a romantic alfresco ceremony followed by an industrial chic reception indoors.
The sun-dappled ceremony utilized the idyllic beauty of the natural surroundings with minimal décor. Artfully arranged blush and ivory floral arrangements filled with prominent blooming garden roses, whimsical Lisianthus and a splash of dainty spray roses marked the start of the aisle, resting atop the elegant stone benches the couple’s guests watched the ceremony from. The overall ceremony design tied nicely with the bride’s elegant aesthetic and her dreamy Peony-filled bouquet as she walked down the aisle. While Kirsten’s two brothers officiated the ceremony, Kirsten and Brett pledged their love amidst towering oak trees and 85 friends and loved ones. Shortly after, while the newlyweds spent a few quiet moments alone, guests enjoyed a light-hearted outdoor cocktail hour, complete with two beer burros adorned with florals.
An industrial-chic wedding reception
After the ceremony, Kirsten and Brett’s celebration continued into a modern reception space, where their industrial chic wedding décor theme came to life. Everything about the décor was representative of the couple’s style and interests. Chic black and white installations sprinkled with creative details stood out against the venue’s towering windows, unfinished brick, and grand iron chandeliers.
Kirsten and Brett used custom table cards to direct their guests to their seats, along with a sleek three-piece acrylic seating chart provided by Scarlet Rose Collective. The couple wanted to have a little fun with their seating arrangements and named the tables after their favorite things. Then, Scarlet Rose Events created the perfect industrial-themed cards hung by leather straps to proudly display the fun monikers. A long head table sat the bride and groom alongside their wedding party and family members. Suspended white hydrangea, blush roses, flourishing Italian Ruscus and Eucalyptus were positioned over the main table on matte black metal poles, along with floating glass orbs containing glowing tealights. The floral canopy’s height left enough headspace for guests to comfortably share conversation and laughter. Then, the table was lined with more lush Italian Ruscus and gleaming candles that matched those suspended from the blooming floral installation.
After dinner, Scarlet Rose Events’ fun installations provided a great way for the couple to continue celebrating with their guests. While the three-tiered red velvet cake evoked timeless elegance, guests enjoyed a modern and chic wedding wall, complete with custom neon signs provided by Scarlet Rose Collective that offered bubbles and, later, decadent brownies! After everyone enjoyed their sips, sweets and late-night breakfast tacos (a Texas staple!), they ventured outside onto the patio to send off the bride and groom. Kirsten and Brett enjoyed an intimate last dance before exiting under showers of stunning sparklers.
Congratulations, Kirsten and Brett! We wish you all the love and happiness in your lives together!
