Four years ago, Madison, a nurse practitioner from Seattle, and Emmanuel, a doctor from Ecuador, met at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. After just a few dates, Madison knew she had found her “McDreamy.” A proposal followed on a beautiful evening at a beach in Mexico, with a radiant sunset as the backdrop.
The couple planned for their wedding to be in February 2020, but as you can imagine, for two medical pros working at the largest cancer center in the U.S. during the pandemic, their wedding plans came to a halt. “We made the difficult decision to delay our wedding to not only keep our family and friends safe but also the patients we work with at the cancer center,” Madison says.
Finally on July 16, 2021, after patiently waiting almost two years, the couple eagerly pledged their love at The Bell Tower on 34th, an elegant venue with hacienda-inspired architecture, regal columns, stone archways and high ceilings. Madison walked down an aisle abundant with whimsical vines of greenery lining either side to meet her future husband at the altar. More greenery trailed through to the reception, romantically draped on the walls, staircases and filling the centerpieces.
A highlight from the day included the couple’s first look. “Seeing each other for the first time, knowing we would-be husband and wife soon, was so exciting, especially after delaying the wedding due to the pandemic; we waited for this moment for so long,” says Madison.
