A chance meeting with Stephen at a bar at the end of a long week sparked a conversation lasting well into the night and led Courtnie to declare that she had met the love of her life to her mom and best friend.
Five years after supporting each other through the tragic loss of both their mothers, the couple took a trip to the island of Sardinia. On their last day, they took a boat out on the ocean to explore the secluded emerald beaches. Stephen anchored on a deserted beach and set up the
GoPro while they enjoyed their savory lunch. Then, Stephen poured a glass of bubbles for Courtnie and proposed.
On May 1, 2021, the couple had a whimsical tent wedding in Houston with an abundance of lush florals in vibrant red, pink, blue and orange hues.
The alfresco reception was magical, with a canopy of string lights covering the clear tent. The highlight was Courtnie’s dad, a stage four cancer survivor, could be a part of their day and provided the meats and homemade sausage from his meat market for the reception. Frank Ghinaudo’s homemade Italian sausage ragu with homemade pasta was the best dish, and the family’s seasoning line was the table assignments and party favors.
Steve and Courtnie celebrated the day with true passion, love, support from friends and family, and friends who have become family. Their day was focused on celebrating their love; love for each other, love for family and friends, love for food, music and LIFE!
