In 2018, Starr and Nathan’s paths crossed through mutual friends right before Starr moved to Boston. Their bond strengthened over time, and Starr moved back to Houston, leading them to start a small business together during the pandemic.

The couple’s love for art played a significant role in their story. The bride says, “Nathan and I always loved museums; he took me on countless dates to museums in Houston and all over the world where we have traveled. He recently told me that he knew I was the one when we went to a Van Gough exhibit.” The couple decided to visit another Van Gough exhibit, where Nathan proposed, making it even more of a special experience.

Fast forward to October 29, 2022, the couple pledged their love at Rice University in an al fresco ceremony decorated with white florals, verdant greenery and hanging votives. Amy Maddox Photography artfully captured the Houston couple’s elegant affair, decorated in a black-and-white color scheme with pops of gold.

As the festivities continued, a grand 5-tier wedding cake by Cakes by Gina, served as a focal point of the reception, along with grand white hydrangea centerpieces and warm candlelight. Friends and family enjoyed a photo booth and a unique phone guest book. The bride says, “At the end of the night, we had a late-night Whataburger run. It was so special for just us! My husband’s groom cake was an A-frame of Whataburger, so it only made sense.”

Starr, the radiant bride, felt like a princess on her special day and cherished getting to celebrate with her parents and loved ones. The bride says, “This wedding meant the absolute most to us, and we wanted to make it so very special!”
