Special events should have the spotlight they deserve – and Bright Star Productions has the expertise and equipment to keep the focus on the highlights of the day – whether that’s a room full of special effect lighting or bubbles for a special entrance. In business since 1986, Houston’s Bright Star’s production team handles everything – from lighting and audio/video, to electrical needs. Special effects are available too – fog, bubble and snow machine effects round out their offerings.  Not sure what the right effects are for you?  Let their experts guide you with suggestions.

The best time to involve Bright Star is right from the start of planning for an event.

“Hiring a professional decorative lighting company will help bring your vision to life and should always be included in the planning from the beginning with other vendors such as floral and décor,” Bright Star’s Gary Archer says, “Event lighting brings the space together with the other design details by creating drama and personality.”

According to Archer, every event is theater, and through excellent sound, video and lighting, Bright Star has the ability to transform spaces, from ordinary to elegant, cutting edge contemporary or just traditional.  Their team excels in implementing the details that accentuate the event space and create that “wow factor” which is so important on special days.

One-on-one attention is important to Archer.

“I take an active role in the process while helping clients create atmosphere to invoke an emotional response, sometimes…many times without knowing,” Archer says.   And that active role lets Bright Star stand out by their listening to clients’ needs, helping them to visualize their concept, creating long-lasting relationships with our clients, and delivering excellent services.

While couples know in advance the decor, the florals, and the linen that they have selected, often it’s the lighting that transforms the space and brings the “package” together.  But there’s no way of predicting the impact of the lighting on the space – and that’s where the “magic” happens.

“You don’t understand what the emotional response will be to what lighting does until you walk into the space,” Archer says.

Destination weddings and special events in the greater Houston area are easy for Bright Star – the contents of their Houston-based 66,000 square foot warehouse can come to you.

“Many of our clients who hire us for our lighting and a/v services have large properties and ranches within a 120-mile radius of Houston,” Archer says.  Those special sites are just waiting to be spotlighted  – whether your event is a wedding, gala, debutante ball, bar or bat mitzvah, or company event.

According to Archer, event lighting is important for several reasons.

“Lighting elevates an event to the next level by showcasing and highlighting various components, such as floral arrangements, Bridal/Grooms cakes, and chuppahs,” Archer says,  “When adding lighting to decorative components like floral arrangements, lighting will bring attention to the details, allowing those elements to stand out especially in photographs.”  And since photos are a memento that will last for generations, allowing elements of the photos to shine is important.

Edison-style vintage light bulbs continue to be a popular choice for special events, and Bright Star has found innovative ways to use specialty bulbs – whether it’s a tubular, A-shape, or squirrel cage filament bulb, or globe bulb.  According to Archer, mixing these bulbs in creative ways creates lovely effects – especially in a bulb wall. Bulb walls can serve many purposes in special events – and are creative ways to spotlight couples.

Using Bright Star is a piece of cake –  their production services include delivery, installation/set up, operation, and then the breakdown and removal of equipment at the end of your event.
