Fate brought Sahar and Jacob together at a boxing class in 2017. Newly single, Sahar came across Jacob’s dating profile and messaged him asking if he attended the same boxing class as her. Impressed by her memory, the two met up at a class and have been inseparable ever since.
For the proposal, Jacob sent Sahar on a birthday getaway to Colorado so he could ask for the bride’s parents’ blessing. At the couple’s weekly boxing session, the instructor cued the proposal as Jacob professed his love for Sahar before getting down on one knee. The couple celebrated with friends and family that evening at the exact location where they had their first date.
On November 27, 2021, the couple wed at the industrial-chic venue, The Astorian. Sahar dazzled in an Ines di Santo gown. After the bloom-filled wedding ceremony, a mariachi band performed during cocktail hour before guests entered the reception space decorated in dusty rose, neutral and gold decor and blooming floral arrangements designed by Plants N’ Petals.
Live music from Intensity Bands kept guests on the dance floor throughout the evening. A special highlight from their wedding day? “Just being in a room surrounded by all our friends and family was the most incredible feeling. We told each other we will likely never get to experience everyone together like that again, so we really soaked it all in. We felt so loved,” the bride says.
