From friends to lovers, Norely and Connor’s journey began at the University of Texas during the challenges of Covid. Despite remaining mutual friends until 2021, they found themselves growing closer, bonding over shared humor and meaningful conversations.
Their relationship took a turn that fall when they started meeting every Friday at Shipe Park, where they played pickleball and shared their stories of faith and redemption. For Connor, the realization of his feelings for Norely came during her six-week mission trip to North Africa. His letters kept them connected throughout her journey, bridging the miles that separated them.
On the first date, “Connor started off things strong with a 12-hour-long date filled with swimming, ramen, arcade games, and unexpected meetings with friends,” the bride shares. Little did she know, this date would mark the beginning of a lifetime of special moments together.
Connor’s proposal was equally thoughtful, taking place under Norely’s favorite tree at Central Market in Austin. The day began at 6 a.m. with a themed “D” date series, which started at dawn, watching the sunrise over donuts and coffee. The pinnacle came when Connor read a heartfelt letter and knelt, asking Norely to be his forever.
Their love story culminated in a beautiful, organic and nature-inspired wedding with a black color scheme on February 23, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Norely looked radiant in her flowing wedding dress, complemented by a stunning white orchid bouquet. The venue was filled with family-style reception tables covered with fresh florals, where guests enjoyed lively conversations and danced to live jazz music played by Hybrid 7.
“We took the time to handwrite a note to everyone at the wedding—seeing our favorite people dining together was sweet,” the bride shared.
The reception featured classic berry chantilly cakes on each table and a Champagne tower, leading up to a sparkler send-off under twinkling lights. The newlyweds embarked on their honeymoon at Casa de la Playa in Mexico, beginning their new life together.
