Kristen and Brian’s paths first crossed in 2017 in Charleston, South Carolina. The two both joined a company in Charleston, and although Kristen was scheduled to move to Texas after a few months, their connection was undeniable.
They explored Charleston’s culinary delights and historical curiosities together, strengthening their connection even miles apart. Their love, nurtured through countless flights and visits, ultimately led Brian to move to Texas, but Charleston remained a special place for them forever.
Brian proposed on a secluded beach during a weekend getaway to Seabrook Island, SC, as a dramatic thunderstorm rolled in. The sky, illuminated by lighting, created a romantic backdrop. After quickly saying yes, they ran across the beach to escape the storm. The unforgettable evening was followed by a celebratory dinner at their favorite Charleston restaurant, making for a perfect start to their engagement.
On November 18, 2023, Kristen and Brian’s wedding day gracefully unfolded. The day began with a traditional church ceremony, followed by their reception at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston.
The reception was adorned in blue and gold with an array of white florals, creating an elegant ambiance. Kirsten’s flowing gown complemented her bouquet of white blooms accented with blue details and lush greenery.
A heartfelt touch Kristen added to her wedding attire was her veil. “My veil was worn by both my grandmother and my mom on their wedding day! I added a second veil underneath it to make the cathedral length,” the bride shares. Her bridesmaids, dressed in blue dresses, added a pop of color to the celebration.
The cake, designed by Susie’s Cakes, was a stunning white cake garnished with delicate blue flowers, perfectly aligning with the wedding’s color scheme. The delicious eats continued; Kristen and Brian added late-night bites into their night. “Milkshake shooters and chicken and waffles for a late-night snack were a must!” The bride says.
Another special moment for Kristen was her father-daughter dance. “I co-wrote (with my friend Jordan Bradshaw) the song that my father and I danced to for our father-daughter dance—I wanted it to be something special and unique to us,” the bride says. Kristen also highlighted the joy of having family and friends travel nationwide to celebrate with them, making the day even sweeter.
They ended their night with a private dance and a romantic rose petal sendoff.
