Emily and Blake met in college through mutual friends. Both being college athletes at separate schools, the couple would alternate from season to season to see each other. Blake went to the University of Texas, where he played baseball, while Emily played volleyball at the University of Tulsa. After a delayed trip due to Covid in May of 2020, Blake was eager to pop the question to Emily. To Emily’s surprise, Blake planned an intimate and beautiful engagement at the park, where he brought in sand to make it feel as if they were on the tropical shores of Mexico.
Flash forward to December 31, 2021, when the couple married at European inspired wedding venue, The Bell Tower on 34th. Emily and Blake pledged their love in a courtyard ceremony surrounded by lush white florals and a gorgeous waterwall.” My favorite moment was walking down the aisle with both my parents and seeing Blake tearing up at the end of the aisle right before we became man and wife,” says the bride. Following the elegant ceremony, friends and family gathered to celebrate the newlyweds with a ballroom reception filled with warm candlelight, blooming florals, and black, white, and gold accents.
The couple rang in the new year with a countdown to midnight with confetti and fireworks. Blake and Emily’s sparkling wedding brought an end to a year of planning that symbolized their new beginning together as husband and wife.
