Zach and Elizabeth’s paths crossed multiple times, but their love story didn’t begin until 2018. Then, on January 29, 2021, while the couple enjoyed a celebratory dinner for Zach’s new job and a move to Austin, their friends were busy preparing for Zach’s romantic proposal. Elizabeth says, “When Zach and I returned from dinner, he “popped” the question with just the two of us then continued the surprises by calling our parents who were waiting nearby to join the celebration.”

On the anniversary of their engagement, Zach and Elizabeth said I do in a traditional church ceremony before heading to The Astorian, a chic industrial venue with breathtaking skyline views. Elizabeth walked down the aisle in a form-fitting gown with a long lace train while her bridesmaids wore coordinating velvet and silk gowns in various jewel-toned hues. Red wine, emerald green and dusty rose blooms sat atop reception tables, while black chivari chairs and linens contrasted the jewel-toned hues. As a unique touch, the couple added printed cards thanking the guests and most importantly, their parents for their ongoing support.

One of the couple’s favorite moments on the wedding day was when the band played Zach’s favorite song by Garth Brooks. “When the band started playing “Friends in Low Places,” I said you have to get up there!” says Elizabeth. Although Zach’s siblings usually avoid the spotlight, the pair quickly joined their brother on the stage. “It was so fun to see them join Zach!” says Elizabeth.

After late-night bites from Whataburger, the newlyweds made their grand exit and headed to Europe for their honeymoon. “It’s cheesy, but it really was the best day. I wouldn’t change a thing and feel so lucky to have been able to celebrate with so many friends and family members,” says Elizabeth.
